Sincerely Style Sense – Layered Up

I have a headache. Not an ibuprofen type of headache.

This is the type of headache that is going to take some effort, some passion, some force to get out of my head. I’ve spent the last eight hours slaving for someone else’s passion. Giving them all of my effort and only to get home, too stressed and tired to pursue my own. But today, I remembered an old post that I wrote that made me smile [Ambition is the New Black]. Nothing is more rewarding than pursuing your own passion. So in an effort to pay homage (in My Funky Dineva voice) to TheCreativ. I submit to you…

Sincerely Style Sense – Layered Up

How has your thinking shifted since the spark of your creative intuition?

SS: Since the spark of my creative intuition, I’ve gone through in an emotional roller coaster. Not in my personal life, but professionally. I’m a self-proclaimed marketing genius. My creative sense of style and imagery is the perfect mix of beauty and edge. I know how to reach people. I know what works. I know how to look into someone’s eyes and show them exactly what they need to see – say exactly what they need to hear. But I don’t always trust myself. I go through moments when I feel like, anyone can do that. It takes a while to come back to the conclusion that there can only be one me.

Do you find yourself foregoing the networking opportunities of your corporate lifestyle to learn and connect more with those who share your creative aspiration?

SS: Absolutely!

I’m an introvert by nature. I actually cringe at the thought of corporate networking. But when I’m in my environment full of folks who are ambitious, stylish, and always looking to spread their wings, I come alive. There is nothing more exhilarating than meeting a nurse who doubles as a photographer or a lawyer whose design skills rival that of anyone showing at London’s Fashion Week.

Have you secretly began planning a strategy to transition into a career that will allow you to fully explore your creative passion?

SS: There is no secret about it. As of today, I’m giving myself 24 months to get to a place where I don’t have to show up to anyone’s office unless it’s on my terms.

So, there you have it. Sometimes it helps to write things down to acknowledge your creative purpose.

I CHALLENGE YOU TO DO THE SAME! Share your creative aspirations with us on Instagram and Twitter @coldhardfash! Tag us to everything that inspires you creatively using the hashtag #CGCreativ.

Before I get out of here, I’m going to take y’all to church
